Finally, all of you, live in harmony with one another; be sympathetic, love as brothers, be compassionate and humble.          

Ang mga kapatid natin sa Panginoon ang siyang makakasama natin sa eternity dahil napaka-permanent ng relationship natin sa Dios. Anak ka ng Dios, anak siya ng Dios, ano ang relasyon nyo? Di magkapatid. At hindi na yun maiiba pa. Kaya mahalaga na mag-develop din tayo ng friendship with our brothers and sisters in the Lord. Hindi yung darating lang tayo at aalis, wala man lang tayong kakilala. Kailangan meron tayong talagang mga tunay na kaibigan sa kapatiran.

And if you are close to five or seven people, that should be enough na mga katuwang natin. Kung tayo naman yung malakas at sila’y nanghihina, tinutuwangan naman natin sila. Ganoon naman ang buhay e. Pana-panahon lang. May lakas ako ngayon, mahina ka. Mahina ako bukas, malakas ka. Nagkakatulungan.

Gusto ng Panginoon na meron tayong katuwang at kasama sa buhay. Yan ay ang mga kapatiran natin. Alam nya na kung tayo ay merong fully matured relationship with our brothers and sisters, gagaan ang ating mga dalahin sa buhay. Our friends in the Lord multiply our joy and divide our sorrows. Kung minsan hindi nagkakaabutan dahil puro pakiramdaman. Smile! Extend your hands. Be friendly. Open up.

You may not have to open up to millions of people but at least open up to some because the Lord likes to love you through them, and the Lord likes to love them through you. Life is a matter of giving and receiving, of inhaling and exhaling.

Romans 12:3

Do not think of yourself more highly than you ought, but rather think of yourself with sober judgment, in accordance with the measure of faith God has given you.

There is one very dangerous thought na dapat nating pinag-iingatang wag palaging isipin. This is the thought that we are above others.

I am above others intellectually. Mas marunong ako kesa sa inyo. So, pag nagsalita ako, makikinig kayong lahat. Di ko kailangang makinig pag nagsasalita kayo. I am above others materially. Mas malaki ang kita ko. Mas mayaman ako sa inyo. Mas marami akong dino-donate. Mas marami akong ibinibigay, so I deserve more attention. I should be given prominence. I am above others socially. Mas mataas ang ranggo ko. Mas marami akong na-accomplish. Mas kilala ang pamilya namin. When I talk, you shut up. I lead, you follow. 

Isa ito sa mga malalang sakit ng napakaraming tao. Kahit nga kung minsan, mga anak ng Dios pa ang laging nagmamataas. Inilalagay ang sarili sa mas mataas na dapat kalagyan. Ikaw ang dapat na unang bumati sa akin pag nag-aaway tayo, kasi mas superior ako kesa sayo. Pag dumarating ako dapat pinapansin mo ako agad.  Pag meron akong gusto, yun ang dapat mangyari. Yung gusto kong pagkain ang oorderin natin sa restaurant. Yung gusto kong pelikula ang panoorin natin. 

This is childish behavior.  Habang ang tao ay nagma-mature, lalo tayong nagiging mapagbigay. Mas natututo tayong magparaya para sa ikaliligaya ng iba.

Proverbs 21:20

In the house of the wise are stores of choice food and oil, but a foolish man devours all he has.

Nakakalungkot dahil marami tayong kapatiran na ang tagal-tagal nagtrabaho sa abroad para kumita ng dollars, isa o dalawang buwan lang matapos mawalan ng trabaho, wala na ni ano. Paano, galit na galit sa pera yung tumatanggap ng remittance. Hindi pa nga dumadating ang dolyar nakapangako na kung kani-kaninong bumbay na may hinuhulugang appliances, hikaw at kung anu-ano. Kaya pag-uwi kung sinuman ang nagtrabaho, bigung-bigo. Away ang kinalalabasan. Hahanapan ng savings pero walang maipakita.

Ang sabi sa Bible, magtipid. Dapat mag-allocate. Kung may pangganansya at pang-enjoy, dapat may pang-save din. Gusto ng Panginoon na meron tayong savings. Huwag nyong ilalagay sa kahon ng tokador ang libreta. Pagdating ng tiya nyo, naiyakan kayo ng konti, labas na ang pera. Nakapadaling lumabas ng pera pag nasa bahay. Kasi, ang problema sa iba, ang laging kinukwenta ay ang savings ng iba. “Naku, malaki na ang ipon nyan.” “Ganito siguro ang gastos nila buwan-buwan, ganito ang kita.” Ang gustong papakin ay ang savings ng iba. Very un-Christian, very indecent.

Yun daw taong matalino, nag-iimpok. Ang taong hangal ay nag-uubos agad. Pag dumating sa kanya ang biyaya, nilulunok nya lahat. Ang pilosopiya sa buhay ng ibang tao ay “Tiis na ba sa wala, tiis pa sa meron?” Kailangang makabawi. Pirming laman ng SM City! “Ubus-ubos biyaya, bukas nakatunganga.”

If anyone has material possessions and sees his brother in need but has no pity on him, how can the love of God be in him?

Ayaw ng Dios na tayo ay pautang nang pautang at para na tayong mga lending institutions. Paano pag may dumating tayong kapatid na nangangailangan? Tanungin nyo kung importante talaga ang pagdadalhan ng pera. Huwag bigay dito, bigay doon na para kang bumibili ng boto. Kung sa paningin nyo ay hindi naman kailangan, don’t lend.

Kung talagang kailangan, huwag pa ring magpautang. Anong dapat? Kung kaya nyo, ibigay nyo na lang at huwag nang ipautang. Hindi naman yung buong savings ng pamilya ang ibibigay nyo. Kung ano lang ang kaya. Halaga na alam nyong hindi makakaapekto sa inyong buhay, hindi mapapariwara ang inyong mga anak at hindi madidiskaril ang mga plano nyo bukas.

Huwag ipautang, ibigay. Ito ang Christian concept of giving. “Ah, kailangan mo pala at meron naman akong ikakaya. Hindi kita papautangin. Heto kapatid, sayo na.” Yan ang Christianity! Hindi tayo nagpapautang kasi nagbibigay tayo!
