It’s stupid to say bad things about your neighbors…

There is a very thin line between love and hatred, and many people find it hard to delineate between the two. Kaya maraming taong dating nagmamahalan na ngayon ay nagkakagatan. Dapat kahit ano pa ang mangyari, manatili yung respeto. Hindi natin maaaring sirain ang pagkatao ng dating kasuyo na hindi tayo madadamay. Kasi bahagi rin tayo ng pagkatao nila. Hindi tayo puedeng dumura sa langit na hindi tatama sa mukha natin ang ating dura. Hindi natin puedeng siraan ang ating sariling pamilya o ang dating kaibigan na hindi rin tayo masisira. Nakakaliit ito ng mundo.

The tongue is powerful. And like everything that is powerful, the tongue must be checked and used correctly and sparingly. The power of speech must be used to nourish, not to destroy. Tayo ang nagiging unang biktima ng masasama nating salita because the kind of words we use against other people only reflect what is inside our heart. The quickest way to give away who you really are is by opening your mouth.

Napakahalaga na kinokontrol at dinidisiplina natin ang ating dila na huwag manira ng kapwa. Bakit kailangang mamintas kung may mga bagay naman na dapat purihin? Tandaan natin na ang pakikitungo natin sa kapwa ay pakikitungo natin sa Dios. Hindi natin maaaring siraan ang ating kapwa na hindi natin sinasaktan ang puso at damdamin ng Dios na nagmamahal din sa taong yun. Napakahalagang alalahanin natin na ang pakikitungo sa tao ay isang napakataas na uri ng relihiyon. Ang pakikipagmabutihan at pakikipagkapwa-tao ay isang mataas na antas ng espirituwalidad.

Proverbs 22:24

Don’t make friends with anyone who has a bad temper.

Kapag ang kasama natin ay mga taong magugulo, palasangkot sa mga chismis at intriga, maiinitin ang ulo, palababag at palaaway, tayo ay madadamay, mahahawa at mada-damage. Do not associate with them. Do not even associate with people who bring you down and make you feel small. Yung mga taong pinapakitid ang ating utak at lagi tayong pinapagalit. Nagagalit ka sa isang tao kahit hindi mo pa naririnig ang side nya dahil lang kinausap natin ang isang taong galit sa kanya. Iniingatan natin ang sobrang pakikipagmabutihan sa mga tao na bad ang influence.

Iwasan ang mga taong wala nang alam pag-usapan kundi ang tumataas na presyo ng bilihin, ang mag-contest kung sino ang mas malala ang karamdaman, ang makipagpaligsahan kung sino ang mas malungkot, mas kawawa at mas martir.

“Ang asawa ko, hindi umuwi ng isang araw.”

“Daig kita, yung asawa ko limang araw.”

“Aba, ang asawa ko isang taon.”

Palakpakan dahil siya ang nanalo.

Pahalagahan natin ang mga tao who make us feel good about life and inspire us to actually do something good. Pahalagahan ang mga taong hindi lang nakakapagpatawa sa atin kundi nakakapagpakita rin kung papaano papasayahin ang buhay sa pamamagitan ng pagsisikap at karunungan. Pahalagahan natin yung mga taong itinuturo ang ating mga kapintasan at kakulangan sa paraang hindi tayo nilalait.

Dapat na pinipili ang kasama, ang pagbubuhusan ng oras, ang ka-text at ka-chat. There is so much to learn this side of eternity so we choose people who bring out the best in us.

Proverbs 23:17

Don’t be jealous of sinners, but always honor the LORD.

Hindi dapat na kinaiinggitan ang mga masasamang-loob. Hindi dapat na pinamamarisan ang kanilang mga maling gawa. Do not envy wrongdoers. Kahit obvious namang sabihing, “Siempre!” madalas pa rin tayong nalilibang at natutukso na mainggit sa mga biglang yumayaman kahit mali ang paraan ng kanilang pagyaman. Naiinggit tayo dun sa mga gumagawa ng shortcuts para magkaroon sila ng instant rewards at gratification. Naiinggit tayo sa mga nandaraya na sila pang napo-promote sa pwesto o kaya ay nagiging topnotcher sa mga exams.

But the Bible says, “Don’t be jealous of sinners.” Alam ng Dios kung sino ang gumagawa ng mali at alam nya how to deal with them. Bakit, alam ba natin kung napaparusahan na pala ng Dios yung gumagawa ng mali? Maaaring sa pang-ibabaw na akala natin, tunay na ang sarap-sarap ng buhay nila, pero hindi naman natin nakikita na may mga kaparusahan nang nangyayari.

Minsan nga, iniisip natin dehadong-dehado tayo dahil tayo yung gumagawa ng tama. Pero hindi natin napapansin na ang dami palang blessings ang ibinibigay sa atin ng Dios. Limitado kasi ang pananaw nating mga tao. Kadalasan ang nakikita lang natin ay yung tinititigan natin at yung gusto nating makita. Kapag Dios na ang nagsabi na huwag tayong maiinggit sa mga gumagawa ng masama, manalig tayo. Kahit sinasabi ng isip, puso, at karanasan natin na kainggit-inggit sila, huwag tayong matukso minsan man na managhili sa kanila.

Sa bandang huli, sasaatin ang kapayapaan kung ilalagay sa Dios ang pagtitiwala.

…Remember that our Lord Jesus said, “More blessings come from giving than from receiving.”

Maraming taong nagmamagandang-loob sa atin, nagbibigay ng panahon at ng oras para makinig sa mga hinaing natin sa buhay, at nagagawa nating abalahin nang walang bayad. Kaya lang, huwag naman nating tigasan ang mukha natin. Hindi naman komo laging free at available ay aabusuhin na. Kailangan palabigay ang tao, hindi palahingi, hindi pala-kuha, hindi palakabig, hindi gusto laging libre lahat.

Inubos nyo yung oras ng isang tagapayo at idinagan nyo sa kanya ang mga problema nyo, ‘tapos kahit isang chiclet man lang, di nyo naabutan? Magbigay naman tayo kahit isang suha. Magpa-consuelo man lang kahit walang hinihingi sa inyo. Kung manonood kayo ng sine, horror pa para matakot, magbabayad kayo, pero yung ipinanalangin kayo at pinayuhan na walang napala sa inyo, kasamaan na ng ugali yan.

Parang sa mga family reunions na ginaganap taun-taon na tuwing darating kayo, wala kayong dala kundi empty stomach. Yung host na lang lagi ang naghahanda at pagkaalis nyo, siya pa ang pagod maglinis. Madadalâ yun at magiging maramot dahil di kayo marunong magsukli. Tandaan nyo, pagka may nagdamot sa inyo, napagod na siguro yun sa kabibigay na wala man lang nahita.

God wants abundance everywhere and it will only be possible if everybody gives to everybody whatever they can afford to give. But if everyone withholds and just asks for free, there will be poverty. Why? Yung mangilan-ngilan at konting nagbibigay, mauubusan din yun o kaya ay madadalâ at di na rin magbibigay. Magkakaroon ng climate of selfishness instead of generosity.

Matthew 5:42

When people ask you for something, give it to them. When they want to borrow money, lend it to them.

Sabi ng Panginoon, magbigay sa humihingi at huwag tanggihan yung nanghihiram. May blessing ba d’yan? Mayroon.

Una, blessing kasi sumusunod tayo. Kung wala tayong makitang ibang magandang dahilan, yun lang sumunod tayo sa utos ni Hesus ay pagpapala na. Kahit na sa unang tingin ay parang lugi tayo, blessing yun. At pag sumunod na tayo, dun pa lang natin mapapatunayan na yun ang tama.

Pangalawa, blessing kasi nakatulong tayo. Imbes na tayo ang nanghihiram, tayo ang nagpapahiram. Isang tanda yun na higit tayong pinagpala.

Pangatlo, blessing because when we lend, titigilan na tayo ng kauungot at hindi na tayo pupuntahan, natahimik tuloy tayo. Kasi kung minsan kahit tanggi tayo nang tanggi, paulit-ulit naman tayong binabalikan, naubusan pa tayo ng lakas sa katatanggi. Yung naaabala tayo, nagugulo at hindi tayo matahimik, stressful yun. Hindi ba mahalaga ang kapayapaan natin? Kaya nga blessing ang utos ng Dios. Ibigay na natin para matahimik tayo.

Pinupwersa kang maglakad ng isang kilometro, gawin mong dalawa. Hinihingan ka ng t-shirt, idagdag mo pa ang jacket mo. Matatahimik siya, matatahimik ka rin. Pahalagahan mo ang pahinga ng isip. It takes a lot of wisdom to know na yun ay blessing. Ang problema kasi kung nagdaramot ka, nagi-guilty ka rin naman e. Mayroon ding kurot sa puso kahit kapiraso. So why live with that pain when you can lend, help the person, and glorify God? Everybody wins.
