If you want to learn, then go and ask the wild animals and the birds, the flowers and the fish. Any of them can tell you what the LORD has done.

         God is the author and designer of nature. Kaya nga mababakas natin sa mga patakaran at batas ng kalikasan yung katangian ng Dios na lumikha nito. At para higit nating maunawaan ang Dios, dapat na maunawaan din natin ang kalikasan. Mahalagang iginagalang natin ang mga batas ng kalikasan para masunod ang kalooban ng Dios.

Halimbawa, pinadilim ng Dios ang gabi para ka antukin at matulog, at pinaliliwanag nya ang araw para ka magising. What is God’s will for you? That you should have enough sleep in a day. What is natural for you? That you should sleep as much as possible at night. Yun ang challenges ngayon ng mga taong nagtatrabaho sa gabi. Naaapektuhan ang katawan. Hindi naman kasi napipili ang shift sa pagtatrabaho para kumita but what must be done is to minimize and mitigate its negative impact on your body, emotion, and spirit. At dahil nababasa natin ang ibinabadya ng panahon, dapat na nagdadala ng payong o kapote kung sa tingin natin ay uulan. O kaya naman ay hindi nagbabalak ng mga garden wedding sa panahon ng tag-ulan. Lahat ng mga plano ay ibinabagay sa panahon.

Kahit pa hindi isinulat ang utos ng Dios, kung titingnan lang natin ang kalikasan marami na tayong utos at kalooban ng Dios na mababasa at mauunawa.

1 Thessalonians 4:3-6

It is God’s will that you should be sanctified; that you should avoid sexual immorality; that each of you should learn to control his own body in away that is holy and honorable, not in passionate lust like the heathen, who do not know God; and that in this matter no one should wrong his brother or take advantage of him.

Avoid sexual immorality. Especially, don’t take sexual advantage of a brother or a sister. Napakadali kasing gamitin ang religiosity to take advantage of people. Halimbawa, nagpapa-counsel, mamaya hinihimas-himas na ng counselor. Inaalu-alo nang konti, tapos kalung-kalong na. Kung anu-ano na ang mga nangyayaring himala.

People who have problems are vulnerable. They tend to cling to you lalo at ikaw ang nakakatulong sa kanila. Para yang mga taong nalulunod. Kaya nga ang instruction sa mga lifesavers, sa likod lumapit pag may nalulunod para hindi ka mayakap. Ang tao kasing nalulunod, oras na lumapit ka, yayakap sayo, hindi ka na makalalangoy. Pareho na kayong malulunod. Minsan gayundin ang mga counselees. Makakita lang sila ng konting strength, konting pag-asa, konting care sayo ay bigla nang kakapit sayo. Ayaw ka nang bitawan. Pareho na kayo ngayong lulubog sa problema.

Kaya kung ikaw ay pastor, ina-avoid mo bilang counselor at teacher yung napakapersonal na mga situations even with counselees.

“Pastor, puede ho ba tayong mag-overnight prayer?”

“O sige, mag-overnight prayer tayo. Doon ka sa bahay mo, doon ako sa bahay ko and we will be one in spirit. Nasa silong na lang tayo ng iisang langit. Bakit kailangan pa tayong nasa isang kwarto? Ano ka, sinusuwerte?”

Yan ang attitude. Don’t take advantage of people.

1 Corinthians 14:33

God wants everything to be done peacefully and in order.

Our God is a God of order. And what does order mean? Everything is in its place. Nature and creation is a clear display of order with correct sets of boundary and positioning. Ang tubig, ang dagat, at ang bundok ay may mga hangganan.

To survive, thrive and be a winner, kailangan natin ang ating mga natural gifts and talent. Maraming magulang na sa kagustuhang ang mga anak nila ay maging engineer, doktor, o kung anupaman, kahit hindi yun ang talent ng bata ay pinipilit. So paano kung pitong beses nang nagbo-board ay hindi pa rin pumapasa? Hindi kasi yun ang tama nyang lugar.

Ang buhay ay fair. It doesn’t mean that life is uniform and everybody is the same. Fairness in life means that everybody is gifted to be a winner in something. So when you operate according to your giftedness or natural talent, doon ka magiging winner at magsa-shine. But if you are in the wrong place, you will never shine. It will always be an uphill struggle. Kaya maganda yung lumulugar tayo sa tama. That’s why God can be called fair because everybody is good at something.

All of us cannot be good at the same thing because magsisiksikan na tayo sa area na yun at ang ibang area ng buhay mawawalan ng tao. Kaya dapat iniisip natin ang ating tamang lugar.

Jeremiah 9:4 (NIV)

Beware of your friends. Do not trust your brothers, for every brother is a deceiver and every friend a slanderer.

    Yung mga sobrang mapagtiwala, ang kadalasan ay natatalo. Ipinagtitiwala ang lahat-lahat pati ang bank account. Ipinapautang yung pangmatrikula ni Jun-Jun sa kanyang kumare. Paano kung naitakbo ng kumare? Sila yung mga masyadong mabilis mahulog ang loob. Kay bilis-bilis umibig. Tatlong araw lang na sunud-sunod na abutan ng kaimito, in love na. Sa buhay, people always take advantage of you and like to cheat you. That is why you’ve got to be very defensive many times over in order not to be taken for a ride.

    Yang mga sobrang pagtitiwala, pagbibigay, at pagiging transparent only makes people very vulnerable. These are not the ways of the wise. Hindi naman natin sinasabing maging paranoid na tayo at huwag nang magtiwala kahit kanino. Ang sinasabi lang ay huwag agad-agad. Subukin muna, siyasatin, suriin ang kapwa bago pagtiwalaan. Remember, only those that you trust can deceive you because those that you do not trust have no chance to deceive you. So lahat lang ng pinagtitiwalaan natin ang puedeng panggalingan ng mga pandaraya sa atin. Kaya nga sa lahat ng nadaya, sino ang nandaya? Yung mga pinagtiwalaan.

    Ingatan nating hindi madaling ibinibigay ang ating loob. Yung mga gumagawa ng ganito, sa bandang huli ang nalulugi, nasasaktan, at naaabuso.

Proverbs 15:17

A simple meal with love is better than a feast where there is hatred.

Minsan, yung sobrang komplikadong handaan na ang dami-daming kutsara, plato at baso na hindi nailagay sa tamang setting ang mitsa ng init ng ulo ni señora sa mga maling nagsi-serve. O kaya napagod na nang husto si misis sa paghahanda, nawawalan na tuloy ng ganang kumain. O nakakatatlong init na siya ng pagkain dahil na-late si mister, awayan na tuloy. Mas mabuti pa raw ang simpleng salu-salo na puno ng pagmamahal kaysa masyadong complicated feast ‘tapos nagkakaproblema. Of course, hindi naman komo complicated ang handa, may problema na. Pero pag complicated yung meal, usually napapagod na yung naghanda. The point is, appreciate and celebrate what’s on the table.

Dapat dine-develop natin ang ating appetite. Kailangan pagka kakain na kayo isinasaisantabi at nililimot yung mga problema, kalungkutan at lalung-lalo yung awayan. Mahirap lumulon ng pagkain pag nag-aaway kayo. Mahirap lumulon ng pagkain pagka malungkot. Huwag isali sa mesa ang mga diet worshippers. Yung may inihanda ka, “Ay, I cannot eat that. Ilang calories ‘yan? Naku, tataba ako.” Yung pinintasan na nang pinintasan yung pagkain. ‘Tapos pag tiningnan mo siya mukhang kalansay yung mukha. Nadadamay tuloy yung iba na may gana. They either feel guilty or they feel bad about themselves.

Don’t bring up trouble sa dining table. Hindi yan ang oras para magtalu-talo, mag-away-away, magbangayan. Importante na pino-protect natin yung mesa because eating is religion, too. Lahat ng ginagawa natin can glorify or dishonor God.
