2 Kings 2:23-24.

Elisha left and headed toward Bethel. Along the way some boys started making fun of him by shouting, “Go away, baldy! Get out of here!” Elisha turned around and stared at the boys. Then he cursed them in the name of the LORD. At once two bears ran out of the words and ripped to pieces 42 of the boys.

Ano nga bang ginawa ng mga kabataan? They jeered the man of God, unaware of who he was, on the basis of his looks: “Hoy! Kalbo! Kalbo!” Kakakita-kita pa lang ni Elisha kay Elijah na dinagit ng mga apoy paakyat. Kabibigay-bigay pa lang sa kanya ni Elijah at ng Dios ng double anointing. Kadadapa-dapa pa lang at kayuyuko-yuko sa kanya ng mga kagalang-galang na mga propeta. At kagagaling pa lang nya sa pag-aararo. Hindi pa siya bihasa on the finer points of the prophetic ministry. He called down a curse on them, then two bears came out of the woods and mauled all forty-two youths–a very cruel act done in the name of God.

“Bakit ganun? Mga bata lang sila. Grabe naman ang ganti!” It is doubtful if this was God’s perfect will. Ngunit hindi ugali ng Dios na manaog mula sa langit upang makialam at derechahang sumangkot, kahit pa umaabuso sa kanilang kapangyarihan ang kanyang mga lingkod. Gayunpaman, huwag manukso, mangantiyaw at mang-inis ng lingkod ng Dios. “Do not touch my anointed ones; do my prophets no harm” (1 Chronicles 16:22). Malinaw ang bilin: huwag mong sasalingin, pipitikin, o kakantiin, lalong-lalo na kung alam mong anointed at doble pa. Mas anointed, mas pag-ingatan.

Be pleasant and hold their interest when you speak the message. Choose your words carefully and be ready to give answers to anyone who asks questions.

Mahirap kausap ang marami kasi matatalim ang dila, madaling mag-judge at mag-label ng mga tao. And the Lord never did that. So be liked and loved, not disliked and hated, after speaking.

Obserbahan natin ang sarili natin. Pag may conversation sa family reunion, sa mesa na sinasaluhan natin para kumain, gumanda ba nung sumali tayo? Nagkaroon ba ng pag-iibigan at unawaan, o nagkagulo, nagbarilan dahil nandoon tayo at nakakainit ng ulo ang mga salita natin? Dapat tuwing bumubuka ang bibig natin, pag talikod natin nagkaroon ng healing, care, love, at friendship. Many are disliked because they wound hearts whenever they speak. Nananakit, nanlalait, nangja-judge so pagtalikod nila, nadagdagan na naman ang mga kagalit nila sa halip na mga kakampi at kaibigan. Is that the way to live? Yun ba ang gusto nating accomplishment, dumami yung naiinis sa atin?

Marami tayong pagmamahal na tinitimpi-timpi, hindi natin ine-express. As long as it is morally and culturally acceptable to express it, express it. Jesus had emotion so we should not be afraid of our emotions. Let people enjoy the Jesus in you; the loving, tender, and nice version of you. Wala ka pang ginagamot na sugat, pinapakain na nagugutom, ipinapanalangin o ginagawa, gumagaan na yung pakiramdam at sumasaya na ang tao. What a great ministry! It is really much better to be liked than to be disliked.

Ephesians 4:29         

…Say the right thing at the right time and help others by what you say.  

Pag marunong kang magbitaw ng salita, magiging kapalagayang-loob mo ang sinuman. Pero kung hindi ka marunong magkorte ng salita, yung konti mong kaibigan ay mawawala pa. So speak well in form. Ang grammar or vocabulary, voice or tone, the length and brevity of our words, the accessibility and clarity–lahat yan mahalaga.

Speak well, not only in form but also in spirit. Pag nagsalita ka, dapat nakinabang ang nakinig, na-edify siya, natuto, naliwanagan, at gumaan, hindi bumigat, ang pakiramdam. May integrity dapat ang ating pagsasalita, hindi naninirang-puri, nakakapagpaliwanag tayo at masaya tayong kasama. May mga taong nakakatakot kumustahin kasi ang isasagot nila sa iyo ay isang buong encyclopedia o ikukwento sa iyo ang sakit ng lahat ng angkan nila isa-isa. Dapat alam din natin kung kailan magsasalita o hindi, gaano kahaba o kaigsi yung sagot para huwag tayong kapaguran ng mga tao.

Nakakaengganyong makinig sa Panginoong Hesus. Malinaw siyang magsalita. Gumamit siya ng lengguwaheng naiintindihan ng karaniwang tao. Hindi siya gumamit ng mga high-sounding theological phrases o mga academic discourses. At maganda siyang manalita. Pag nagbibigay siya ng halimbawa tungkol sa mga ibong lumilipad, mga bulaklak na namumukadkad, humahalimuyak na mga halaman, parang nandoon ka mismo. At walang nasayang na salita ang Panginoon. Laging relevant, may kabuluhan, at nakabubuti.

Let us be likeable like the Lord Jesus. When people benefit from our talk, they will be thankful that we opened our mouth.

Try your best…to mind your own business…

Isa sa mga panggulo sa buhay ang mga taong maurirat, mahilig magtanong, kumalkal ng hindi dapat kalkalin, alamin ang hindi dapat nalalaman, buksan ang mga may takip at pasukin ang bawal pasukin. These are people who are disrespectful of other people’s privacy and even comfort. Mahilig makialam at mag-imbestiga sa buhay ng may buhay. Pero kahit pa nga kapamilya at malapit sa inyo, dapat din silang binibigyan ng privacy.

Isa ito sa mga marapat na matutunan ng mga magulang. Na habang nagkakaedad at nagpapakita na ng maturity ang mga anak and that they are becoming more and more able to manage their lives, we should ask less and less questions. “Ano ang ginawa mo doon? Saan ka nagpunta? Magkano ang bili mo d’yan?” Sa kanilang mga formative at teen-age years, gusto nating huwag silang mapaligaw ng landas, inaalam natin ang mga pasikut-sikot ng buhay nila. Pero dapat ding dumating sa punto na ina-acknowledge natin na mga mature na ang mga anak natin. Lalo na kapag above 25 years old na. Kaya kung minsan yung mga anak ay maagang nag-aasawa o umiimbentong magtatrabaho kahit sa Pluto, matakasan lang ang mga magulang na hindi sila iginagalang.

Pagka may mga taong ayaw pag-usapan yung buhay nila, huwag nating tanungin. May kasabihan nga, “Ask me no question and I’ll tell you no lies.” Most of the time, many people are compelled to tell lies because they are asked questions they don’t want to talk about. Huwag tayo maging maurirat. Respect people. Let us give them the pleasure and the leeway to volunteer information.

Matthew 15:19-20

“Out of your heart come evil thoughts, murder, unfaithfulness in marriage, vulgar deeds, stealing, telling lies, and insulting others. These are what make you unclean. Eating without washing your hands will not make you unfit to worship God.”

Unclean food that is being discussed here is the food that makes a person unfit for worship. Siempre kung kumain ka ng bulate, magkakabulate ang tiyan mo. Ang sabi ng Panginoong Hesus, “Sobra kayong nagbibigay ng halaga sa pumapasok sa inyong mga bibig. Ang nagpaparumi sa inyo yung lumalabas sa inyong bibig na mga pananalita. Ang bantayan nyo yung maruming espiritu na ipinakikilala, ipinamumukha at ibinibisto ng inyong pananalita.” Ang ibig nyang sabihin ay hindi kayang parumihin ng anumang kainin nyong physical food ang espiritu ninyo. Gi-grade-dan tayo ng Dios sa kung ano yung lumabas sa ating bibig, hindi kung ano ang pumasok kasi lalabas din yun sa ating katawan. Mas mahirap i-lab test yan kaysa stool o urine. Ang tine-test ng Dios yung sa bibig lumalabas kasi galing yun sa puso.

Kung mahalaga sa atin ang kinakain natin, lalo nating pahalagahan ang sinasabi ng ating bibig kasi yan ang nagpapakita ng tunay nating espirituwalidad. May mga supladang dala-dala ang sariling suklay pag pupunta sa parlor dahil hindi gagamit ng suklay ng may suklay pero kung saan-saan inihahataw ang katawan sa imoralidad. Hindi kayo makakain ng pagkaing dinapuan ng langaw pero namumutaktak naman ang mura sa bibig nyo. Inuuwi nyo mga paper clips, stapler, photocopier, coffee maker, elevator ng opisina pero ang selan-selan nyo when it comes to food. Yan ba ang malinis sa Dios? Be more conscious of the Jesus diet.
