Matthew 7:15

“Watch out for false prophets! They dress up like sheep, but inside they are wolves who have come to attack you.”

Sabi mismo sa Bible that there are wolves dressed as sheep who are mingling with the people of God, kaya mag-iingat tayo. But of course, church leadership tries to be decent and not destroy people’s reputation.

There are people who can cry on cue.

Kaya dapat tayong magsuri at maging madalanginin. Huwag tayong magpapadala sa nakikita lamang natin. We should pray for discernment to be able to feel in our heart what kind of heart the other person has.

Matthew 14:23

Then he went up on a mountain where he could be alone and pray. Later that evening, he was still there.

Maraming public activities ang Panginoon pero marami rin siyang private and personal activities, especially times of prayer. Our Lord practiced a very personal spirituality. And so must we.

Your church can do with and for you only one-half of your growth. The other half you have to do on your own with the Lord. Kailangan may pananagutan.

Kailangan may sariling sikap.

Corporate worship is good pero may kakambal dapat na personal worship. We can function in the context of Christian fellowship and family, but let us keep and prioritize our personal walk with Jesus.

GAWING MADALI SA IBA

Hebrews 8:12

I will treat them with kindness, even though they are wicked. I will forget their sins.

Ito yung tunay na pakahulugan ng “to forgive is to forget.” And to forgive is to move on. Forgive people and forget their misdeeds.

But we must also make it easier for others to forgive us and to forget what we did to them. Marami din tayong pagkukulang sa iba. Every day, sinasadya man o hindi, we offend people around us. Sometimes we take other people’s rightful places. Sometimes we take the promotion that others think they deserve. Sometimes we win this romantic object that others feel they should have instead.

Help people forgive you because it is unkind to cause others to hate you. Hatred sets them back.

Luke 5:12-13

Jesus came to a town where there was a man who had leprosy. When the man saw Jesus, he knelt down to the ground in front of Jesus and begged, “Lord, you have the power to make me well, if only you wanted to.” Jesus put his hand on him and said, “I want to. Now you are well.” At once the man’s leprosy disappeared.

Touch could mean acceptance. It could also have great therapeutic effects and healing power. Through touching, there is connection and a conveyance of emotional power. Pinaniniwalaan nila noon na if you touch a leper, you would be leprous yourself. At the very least, you could get infected. But the Lord touched even the lepers.

Hindi tayo puedeng tumulong sa ibang tao if we will not touch them. Touching is not only physical. You get involved, sasangkot ka talaga.

Like Jesus, we should learn to touch people, but tastefully and prayerfully in a good time and in a very sincere way. Yun lang dapat, hindi more than what culture and goodly quorum allows. Words can also touch. You can make or break somebody’s day or heart by your words. Touch people the way Jesus did.

DO GREATER THINGS

John 2:9b-10 (NIV)

He (the man in charge of the feast) called the bridegroom over and said, “The best wine is always served first. Then after the guests have had plenty, the other wine is served. But you have kept the best until last!”

It was about improving an otherwise bad situation.

Christians can also turn water into wine now as Christ empowers and commands us to do greater things (see John 14:12). May magkagalit, sasali kayo, magkakasundo sila. You turned a bad situation into a good one.

We can and we should be ready, willing and able to help the needy, to give good things to people, to improve situations, and to turn ordinary things into special ones.
