You don’t have to work so hard to cover up for what you are not. “Kain tayo.” “Wala ako sa mood e.” Yun pala’y walang pera. Hindi na lang sabihin, “Wala kasi akong pera e.” Baka may maglibre pa sayo, di ba? Sabihin mo na ang totoo. Hindi kapintasan na walang pera o maging mahirap. Kapintasan ang maging sinungaling o hypocrite.

Most of our hypocrisy has something to do with our intelligence, integrity or wealth. Ang daming nagpe-pretend ukol sa pera. Pupunta ka sa bahay, “Naku, may arthritis ako. Hindi ako nakapag-supermarket.” Hindi na lang sabihing wala talagang pamalengke. Dahil pag nalaman ko ay baka dalhan pa kita. O dalhan ka pa ng kaibigan mo. Hindi mabuti ang nagpapanggap tayo.

We must speak and present the truth in love, in all humility, and in all goodness. Remember that hypocrisy is a lie. The Lord is truth. Satan is the father of lies. Thus, hypocrites carry out Satan’s will and work. Satan is oppressive, and hypocrisy, as one of Satan’s tools, is oppressive. It is liberating to unmask ourselves. It is relieving. It is enjoyable. And it is godly.

Magbulay-bulay tayo ngayon. Saang areas of my life ako nagiging hypocrite? Then let’s make a firm resolve to no longer become victims of pretense. Let’s ask God to free us and to give us the strength to be honest and to be truthful.

Philippians 4:11-13
For I have learned to be content whatever the circumstances. I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want.

Puede tayong maging kuntento sa panahon ng taggutom at kapos. Para di tayo maging reklamador, isipin natin ang lahat ng panahon na nagkaroon tayo ng sobra-sobra. Kumbaga na-advance na yung saya kaya’t puede nang maging dusa ngayon. Wala namang buhay na 100% dusa. Lagi kang may nararanasan na maganda at di maganda. Sa panahon na di maganda, sariwain natin ang magaganda nating naranasan. Sabihin natin, “Salamat at kahit minsa’y nakahiram ako ng ligaya. Kahit minsa’y naranasan ko rin na magkaroon kaya puede rin akong wala ngayon.”

Be content with our situation. Hindi naman ibig sabihin na wala na tayong gagawin para umusad ang ating sitwasyon. Pero kung nagawa na nating lahat ang kayang gawin at nandoon na yun, tanggapin natin.

Remember that nothing is permanent. Health or sickness, wealth or poverty—no situation is guaranteed to be there all the time. Sabihin na lang nyo, “This, too, will pass.” Kahit anong hapdi, lumilipas naman ang lahat, di ba? Kahit ano pang sakit ang nangyari sa ating buhay, gagaling din tayo. Lalung-lalo na kung tayo’y may pananampalataya at kung nananalangin tayo ayon sa kalooban ng Dios. No hardship is permanent. But be aware that no comfort is permanent as well. Di ba talagang palipat-lipat yan; huwag lang nyong pepersonalin. Dumadaan sa lahat ng tao ang ganoon.

For none of us lives to himself alone and none of us dies to himself alone.

We don’t live to be alone. God said, “It is not good that man should be alone (Genesis 2:18).” Hindi naman ibig sabihin nito na dapat mag-asawa ang lahat ng tao. May mga taong may asawa who still feel so alone. There are married couples who live in the same house, share the same room, sleep in the same bed, and use the same bathroom, yet live two separate lives. Hindi pag-aasawa ang solusyon, although it’s a great help if you handle marriage well. The point is, it is not good for man to be alone.

But if there are people in your life, there’s a price to pay. Nai-invade ang ating privacy. Nahahati ang ating juice. Sumisikip ang higaan pag may in-accommodate ka. Nababawasan ang mga unan mo, imbes na marami. But remember, people multiply our joy and divide our sorrows. Napakahalaga nyan.

Pag nalulungkot ka, maraming nakikiramay sayo, nagkakahati-hati ang lungkot at gumagaan. Siempre, nandun din yung burden—maraming umuutang, maraming humihingi, maraming umaasa. Pero ano ba naman yun? Material things lang yon. Marami sa atin ang malungkot dahil nag-iisa pala sa buhay. Nalulungkot without ever realizing na ito talaga ang dahilan. I-career: Magparami ng kaibigan at kasama sa buhay.

Be on your guard; stand firm in the faith; be men of courage; be strong.

One of the greatest discoveries that Christians can find in their lives is that they are a people of strength, not a people of weakness. We ought to be strong because of who our God is, and because of who we are. If you act like a weak person, then in the end you will really be weak. But this is a lie. We are a people of power because of our God.

Anong nagpapahina ng loob nyo pag inyong naiisip, “Wala akong savings. Paano kung magkakasakit ako?” We become afraid of the future. But God has been to the future. Narating na nya ang bukas noon pa man.

Kung tayong tao na makasalanan ay marunong mag-alaga ng mahihina, lalo na ang Dios. Alangan naman na pag lumapit kayo sa Dios ay sasabihin nya, “Aha! Tinanggap mo akong Lord. Ngayon ay aapihin kita. Kawawa ka sa akin. Buti nga sayo!” Yon kaya ang gagawin nya? No! May plano siya. “Make me your Lord and Savior because I have a wonderful plan for you.”

Ang gawin mo ay sumunod sa Dios. Tutal, siya naman ang naglinya ng mga planeta. “Ano ho kaya ang sinasabi ng mga stars ngayon sa aking kapalaran?” Instead of reading the movement of the stars, why don’t you read the Bible, the Book of the One who made the stars? Then you’re better off. Maraming nagpapahina sa atin dahil ang tinitingnan natin ay ang mga hindi dapat. At hindi natin tinititigan ang dapat titigan. Kailangan lang ay sundin ang Panginoon.

I am sending you out like sheep among wolves. Therefore be as shrewd as snakes and as innocent as doves.

Huwag kayong lubos na mapagtiwala. Kasi maraming sumasali sa atin, nakiki-brother, nakiki-sister, yun pala hinuhuli lang ang loob natin para pagsamantalahan tayo later. Hindi komo nasa church tayo, kampante na ang kalooban natin. Sa grupo nga ng Lord may Hudas, di ba?

Yung iba naman sobrang magtiwala. Pupunta sa banyo, ilalapag ang bag kung saan, suklay nang suklay, tingin nang tingin sa kanyang mga nunal, nakuha na pala yung laman ng bag nya. Alam nyo naman ang mga mandaraya, itatabi nila ang bag nila sa bag nyo, kaya sa malayo akala nyo yung bag nila ang kinakalikot nila, pero yung bag ninyo na pala. Kaya dapat tayong maging wise.

Meron pa ngang iba na ginagawang negosyo ang paghuhulog sa buslo during offering. Mag-iipit sila ng twenty pesos sa isang daliri, kunwari’y ihuhulog sa buslo ang kamay, pero pag-angat nito may nakadikit nang mas malaking halaga sa mga daliri nila. Kahit nananalangin ka nang taimtim, huwag mo pinapayagang napagsasamantalahan ka ng iba.

Maraming nagsasamantala sa loob ng church, kaya dapat lang na tayong mga anak ng Dios ay laging gising ang utak.
