Ephesians 4:32

Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.

Walang mag-asawa na magtatagal kung hindi sila matututo na magpatawad. There will be, as there as has been, many errors, many shortcomings, small and big mistakes but the only correct reaction to all of these is forgiveness.

Forgive and forget. Love must keep no record of wrongs. Pag hindi kayo marunong magpatawad, maghihiwalay kayo. Bakit kailangan ng pagpapatawad? Kasti tinatanggap natin ang katotohanan na walang taong ganap. No one is perfect. Therefore, whether you like it or not, magkakamali kayo. Whether you like it or not, magkakamali ang inyong asawa. The cure-all medicine? Forgiveness.

Ano ang kaisa-isa nating natitirang sandata laban sa pagkakamali? Forgiveness as much as we also need to be forgiven. Huwag kayong magpatawad sa inyong asawa kung hindi na kayo magkakasala. Therefore, hindi nyo na kailangan ang patawad ng Dios. But so long as you need the forgiveness of God for your own mistakes, you should be willing to forgive others, especially your spouse.

Genesis 16:7-10
The angel of the LORD found Hagar near a spring in the desert…And he said, “Hagar, servant of Sarai, where have you come from, and where are you going?” “I’m running away from my mistress Sarai,” she answered. Then the angel of the LORD told her, “Go back to your mistress and submit to her.” The angel added, “I will so increase your descendants that they will be too numerous to count.”

Maraming Hagar sa ating paligid. Wala silang kapangyarihan sa mga nangyayari sa kanilang buhay. Mga sunud-sunurang alipin at utusan, mga nadaya. Pero may puwang sila sa puso ng Panginoon. Madalas, pag may mga babaeng biktima ng maling pagtitiwala, hinuhusgahan agad natin sila. We give them labels kahit hindi natin alam na biktima sila. Akala nila yung boyfriend ay binata, tatlo na pala ang naging asawa at huli na nung malaman nya. At hindi malaman ang gagawin sa ipinagbubuntis na bata. Alangan namang burahin na lang yung bata e nandun na yun. Wala naman itong kasalanan.

But what we should appreciate here is that the Lord is the Lord of repair. Kahit gusto nyang perfect tayo, pag nasira naman ang buhay natin, binubuo nya tayong muli. The Lord deals lovingly with everyone. If we operate within his ideals, we receive great blessing. Pero kahit pa hindi ka naging ideal katulad ng maraming nadadapa, may blessing pa rin kahit na hindi na ito katulad ng kung ideal ka.

Gusto ng Dios yung pinakamataas na dangal at uri ng pamumuhay para sa atin. Pero kung bumagsak tayo sa next level, kakatagpuin nya tayo dun. Dun nya tayo kakausapin, aayusin at pagpapalain.

Proverbs 19:17

He who is kind to the poor lends to the LORD, and he will reward him for what he has done.

When you are good to the needy, God is good to you. Ang lahat ng ibinibigay natin sa mga kapuspalad at nangangailangan, ang Dios ang nagbabalik. Alam nyo ba that the sweetest, the nicest, the wisest giving is to give to those who cannot give back? When they cannot pay, it is God who pays you back.

Ang Dios hindi nanunuba. God is no man’s debtor. Binabayaran nya nang lampas-lampas. At sa lagay, siya pa ang magkakautang sa tao? Siya pa ang may utang na loob?

Yung mga taong hindi marurunong, nagbibigay lang dun sa mga may kaya. Bakit hindi marurunong? Kasi yung may kaya, makakabayad yan e. Yun din ang dahilan kaya pag mayaman ang may birthday, mamahalin ang mga regalo natin. Pag dukha yung may birthday, gulamang may amag ang regalo. O kaya naman ay kalendaryong paso na. O kaya ay diary noong 1964. Lampas na ang petsa. “Hindi ko nga ito nagamit, baka magamit mo.” Magamit para tuntungan sa baha?

Kaya alam mong malinis ang puso nung nagbibigay sa hindi nakakapagbalik. Kindness to the poor brings security. Kindness to the poor brings reward.

2 Corinthians 10:1a

By the meekness and gentleness of Christ, I appeal to you.

Do you know why Paul was saying, “By the meekness and gentleness of Christ”? He was not a gentle person. He was a go-getter. He always punctuated his sentences with things that make you sit up. But the Lord is known as gentle. His arrival in this world was very gentle—no trumpets, no big deal, a soft and quiet arrival. His childhood years and his youth were spent so quietly because the Lord meant it to be that way, to be consistent with his character.

Even though Peter denied him three times, the Lord restored him very gently. Tinanong niya nang tatlong beses, “Peter, do you love me?” Tatlong beses bumagsak si Peter pero binigyan siya ng tatlong steps pataas para zero balance siya uli.

Nang pakainin niya ang limang libong lalaki, not counting the women and children present, nobody noticed it was a big miracle because the food was silently distributed. When the Lord healed someone, sabi niya, “Huwag mong ipapamalita.”

His behavior during his mistrial, when he carried the cross and was nailed on it, and when he was dying, was characterized by gentleness. The soldiers who lied about his resurrection were able to fool a lot of people because it was a quiet event. The ascension of the Lord to heaven was witnessed only by a few.

Let us be like the Lord Jesus. Remember, one of the marks of true spirituality is gentleness. Dapat ang Christians, gentlemen and gentle ladies.

James 5:11

…The Lord is full of compassion and mercy.

May mga taong mapagbigay sa iba. “Kawawa naman.” Nagbigay uli. “Nakakaawa naman.” Pagkatapos ay sasabihin, “Hindi na ako magbibigay.” Pero heto na ngayon ang humihingi at naawa na naman. Nagbigay na naman. Sisisihin siya ng iba, “Ayan ka na naman. Naaawa na naman!”

We should thank God kung tayo’y may maawaing puso. Maraming tao ang matigas ang puso. Hindi sila maawain. At kung matigas ang puso nila, ang layu-layo nila sa blessing. Kung ang lupa ay matigas at may mahulog ditong buto, hindi lulubog, hindi tutubo. Kaya anong ginagawa ng mga magsasaka pag tag-ulan? Inaararo, pinapalambot ang lupa para pag may itinanim ay tumubo.

Ang pusong matigas ay hindi tutubuan ng mabubuting bagay. If you’re going to err, err on the side of being nice, rather on the side of being too wise. Pag kayo’y may malambot na puso, ipagpasalamat nyo sa Dios. At kung may matigas naman kayong puso, pagsisihan. Humingi tayo sa Dios ng kapangyarihan na lumambot naman. May napahamak, at kahit pa ang perception nyo sa kanya ay isang kaaway o masamang tao, ang mabuting tao ay naaawa pa rin.

Di ba’t ang Dios ay naaawa sa atin kahit di tayo mabuti? Sino ba sa atin ang mabuti? No one is righteous, not even one. And yet ang lakas-lakas ng loob nating humingi ng awa sa Dios. Kung ganun ang Panginoon, di ba dapat na tayo’y ganun din?
