FREEDOM

2 Corinthians 3:17
Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.

While the Bible says that where the Spirit of the Lord is, there must be a sense of freedom, the church sometimes makes us feel a sense na nakatali, kinokontrol, at pinipigil tayo.

The church must never function as a police department. Nawawalan tuloy ng pag-ibig at ng pagtutulungan. At ang nangyayari ay nagsisiraan nang nagsisiraan. What happens then? People become hypocritical. They hide their mistakes, their sorrows, and their imperfections because they are afraid that the church might condemn them.

Bakit pa nagka-church kung ganyan din lang? Dapat sa church mo nga natatanggal ang iyong maskara, because there is acceptance. We give care to everyone. The church is a hospital where everybody is a patient and a caregiver to one another.

Pero kung lagi na lang nating babantayan ang kasalanan ng tao, nasaan na ang spirit of freedom? Will anyone be free to tell you na meron siyang weakness o kasalanan o nagawang mali para matulungan mo siya? O ikukubli na lang nya ito dahil oras na malaman ng kapatiran, pagpipiyestahan?

In the fellowship and in the church, it is not healthy that people hide their sorrows and mistakes to the point that we cannot help them. We must create an atmosphere where people may be free to admit that they are not perfect so that we can help one another. Not freedom to do anything we like but freedom to be who we are and to seek help so that we can be the better version of ourselves.
