When you believe in Christ and what he did for you at the cross, you become holy. Sabi nung iba, holiness is no longer a requirement to be saved. It’s not true. Holiness is the requirement to be saved. Kaya lang legal holiness. At ito ang napakagandang message ng gospel. That we can become holy without trying hard. Sa totoo lang, no matter how hard we try, we cannot be holy. So, although holiness is still a requirement to be saved, we become legally and positionally holy only when we accept Jesus as Savior and Lord. We are not actually morally holy, but we are made legally holy by our faith.
Nakakalungkot dahil napakaraming tao try very hard to be actually holy. Hindi ito mangyayari para ma-accomplish ang 100% holiness all the time. It is a difficult proposition to even think of doing. But our love affair with God makes us holy. At ito ang kabaligtaran: Our love affair outside of God naman makes us sinful.
But the legal holiness does not stop there. Once we have become legally holy through our faith in Christ, we begin to be actually holy dahil sa ating pakikipag-isa sa kanya, sa pagsama natin sa kanya at sa pagpayag natin na samahan nya tayo. Nagiging tunay ang ating kabanalan sa pakikipisan natin sa kanya. Dahil pag lagi natin siyang kasama, nagbabago talaga tayo.
