Matthew 16:26

“What will you gain, if you own the whole world but destroy yourself? What would you give to get back your soul?”

Hindi ibig sabihin nito that we should not work for money. But we should not hurt our relationship with God just to improve our financial standing. Money must not be allowed to jeopardize our spirituality.

Financial issues confront God’s people everyday, and even financial decisions have to be based on the example of Jesus. What are some of Jesus’ teachings about money? First of all, money is many things. It can buy many things, but it is not everything. While abundance is desirable and can be good, life is not just all about abundance. Therefore, money must not be allowed to compete with God for space in one’s heart.
