DO WHAT GOD TELLS YOU

1 Corinthians 12: 7, 11

The Spirit has given each of us a special way of serving others. But it is the Spirit who does all this and decides which gifts to give to each of us.

Luke 13:7

“So he said to the gardener, ‘For three years I have come looking for figs on this tree, and I haven’t found any yet. Chop it down! Why should it take up space?’”

USEFUL AND NEEDED

1Timothy 3:13
Those who serve well as officers will earn a good reputation and will be highly respected for their faith in Christ Jesus.

Serving people, especially during their low moments, binds relationships. In the process of ministering, we feel needed, loved and wanted. Di ba’t ang pinakamalaking parusa sa isang tao ay not to feel wanted and needed? If you put people to work and make them useful, that means you love them because they will feel good about themselves.

MAY KAWANGGAWA BA?

1 Timothy 6:18

Instruct them to do as many good deeds as they can and to help everyone. Remind the rich to be generous and share what they have.

We should develop personal charity and exercise of good works. When people do good things to the weak, the needy, the destitute, and the poor, a miracle happens in their hearts. Their spirituality develops more sensitivity as a result of their obedience to the Lord in doing good works. James 1:27 (NIV) is very explicit: Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world. Orphans and widows here are representatives of the disempowered, the marginalized, and the defenseless.

SINO ANG SINUSUPORTAHAN MO?

1 Corinthians 9:11-12

When we told the message to you, it was like planting spiritual seed. So we have the right to accept material things as our harvest from you. If others have the right to do this, we have an even greater right…

POWER TRIP

Luke 9:53-56

… so the people there refused to welcome him [Jesus]. When the disciples James and John saw what was happening, they asked, “Lord, do you want us to call down fire from heaven to destroy these people?”

Lahat tayo may power. Iba-iba lang yung laki. Maaaring kapangyarihan mo ay ang iyong posisyon. Manager ka o presidente ng kumpanya. May power ka over everybody. Pag pastor ka, may power ka over your members. Magulang ka, may power ka over your children. So go easy on the powers. Relax ka lang. Huwag ka laging nagkakandarapa na gamitin yan to prove yourself.

PUSH MO YAN

Hebrews 10:24

We should keep on encouraging each other to be thoughtful and to do helpful things.

Isang maganda at napakalaking ministry ng mga anak ng Dios is to help people build their dreams. Hindi lang to bring people into a religious experience or bring them to church, which are both important. The world will be a lot nicer, the environment will be a lot happier if people around us are building their dreams instead of watching their world collapsing around us.

BREAK THE CYCLE

Proverbs 20:22

Don’t try to get even. Trust the LORD, and he will help you.

When dealing with people you hate, try to change them positively with the power of God and with the power of your own love. Turn them into people you could like by changing your mind about them. They are not likable, alright, but why don’t you change your mind about them and teach yourself to like them and to find things that you could like about them?

ALISIN ANG BITTERNESS

Ephesians 4:31

Stop being bitter and angry and mad at others…

Do not harbor bitterness about your situation or that of your loved ones. “Bakit kaya ipinanganak akong mahirap?”, “Bakit ako maraming peklat?” “Bakit ako ganito, ganun?” Bitterness ang laman ng puso dahil naiinggit.

LEAVE OTHERS ALONE

Ephesians 4:2

Patiently put up with each other and love each other.

Aloneness can be very helpful. It can bring back peace, balance and sanity. Let people rest from your presence and enjoy your absence.

CONNECT

Ecclesiastes 4:10

If you fall, your friend can help you up. But if you fall without having a friend nearby, you are really in trouble.

SEEK GOD’S TOUCH

Matthew 9:28-30a

After Jesus had gone indoors, the two blind men came up to him. He asked them, “Do you believe I can make you well?” “Yes, Lord,” they answered. Jesus touched their eyes and said, “Because of your faith, you will be healed.” They were able to see…

Iba talagang klase ang kanyang sensitivity to people’s needs. He knew the value of touch.
