Philippians 2:4
Each of you should look not only to your own interests, but also to the interests of others.

Pagka na-disappoint tayo sa tao dahil na-late siya, kulang ang dinala nya, o hindi tama ang ginawa nya, consider the other person’s needs and concerns. Baka may iba siyang need na more compelling than ours kaya hindi tayo sinipot. Or consider other people’s difficulties. Baka hirap na hirap to meet the standard we want. Consider other people’s limitations.

Ang problema natin is we judge people according to our personal standard without respecting them and without giving consideration to their weaknesses and shortcomings. We have to consider other people’s interests as well.

Let’s face it, disappointment with other people comes from our selfishness. We like people to be our shadows.

“Ah ganun? E di dun ka na sa nanay mo!”

Kasi ipipilit mo yung sayo, ba’t hindi mo i-respect yung taste ng ibang tao?

If you want disappointment to lose its power over you, then become less and less selfish.
