1 Corinthians 16:19

The churches in the province of Asia send you greetings. Aquila and Priscilla greet you warmly in the Lord, and so does the church that meets at their house.                      

Maraming mga taong kaladkarin pero walang kwenta kung saan-saan nakakaladkad. Ang mag-asawang Aquila at Priscilla ay nakaladkad sa ministry at hanggang ngayon their names ring throughout the ages because the Bible mentions them and their ministry. Kaya naman katakut-takot ang pagbati ni Paul sa mag-asawang ito.

They encountered and instructed Apollos na later ay magiging lider ng church sa Corinth at nakatagpo nila sa Ephesus. Si Apollos ay maraming alam sa salita ng Dios subalit hanggang kay John the Baptist lamang. Tinuruan ng mag-asawang Priscilla at Aquila si Apollos ng malinaw na katuruan tungkol sa kaligtasan.

Naging iglesya mismo ang kanilang tahanan. Gaano karami kayang mag-asawa na ang mga pangalan will go down in history as having hosted a church in their homes? It is a great ministry. The Lord gives us homes not only for ourselves but also for his people. The Lord comforts us not only to make us comfortable but so that we can comfort others as well. The Lord prospers us so that we can also provide for the needs of his people and for his church. As we become vessels of blessings, the Lord enriches us continuously.

Ang pinakamagandang palamuti ng isang bahay ay mga mananampalataya na nagpupunta dun upang magpuri sa Dios at mag-aral ng kanyang salita. Daig nyan ang mga Ming plates at kung anu-anong ivory at mga tapestry na nabibili ng salapi.

Philippians 2:12-13

Therefore, my dear friends, as you have always obeyed—not only in my presence, but now much more in my absence—continue to work out your salvation with fear and trembling, for it is God who works in you to will and to act according to his good purpose.

Work out your salvation. Akala naman ng iba ay pagtrabahuhan mo at nang maligtas ka. Hindi sinabing work for your salvation. Ang sinabi, work out. Pag sinabing work out ay mag-exercise ka, mag-work out ka sa gym. Therefore, exercise your salvation. Put it to use and put it to greater use by using it. Parang muscles, habang nagwo-workout ka, lumalaki ang muscles mo at bumibigat ang nadadala mo. Habang mabigat ang dinadala mo, lumalaki lalo ang muscles mo. Mamaya ay mas mabigat na ang dinadala mo. That’s what working out is all about.

When you say work out your salvation, aba’y gamitin mo yan. At habang ginagamit mo ay titibay ka, at habang tumitibay ka ay lalo mong magagamit. Kaya’t patuloy ang ating pagsisikap. May participation tayo dyan. Bagamat galing sa Panginoong Hesus ang empowerment, may responsibilidad tayo na gawin yun, i-practice at i-prove sa ating sarili.

John 11:25-26

Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in me will live even though he dies; and whoever lives and believes in me will never die. Do you believe this?”

Maraming takot mamatay. Kung natatakot tayong mamatay, hindi na tayo mawawalan ng takot dahil alam naman natin na lahat nakadestinong mamatay. Kung natatakot tayo sa kamatayan ay madadaya tayo buong buhay. Wala na tayong gagawin kundi matakot because any day, any moment puedeng dumating yun.

Ang sabi sa Biblia, “Hindi ka mamamatay.” Puede pala yun. Hindi dapat matakot sa kamatayan sapagkat katawan lamang ang maiiwan at ang espiritu ay patuloy na nabubuhay. Sa katunayan para sa sinumang nasa Panginoon, ang katawan natin ay isa lamang piitan o kulungan. Kung ang katawan na ito ay bibigay na, makakawala ang ating espiritu at babalik na tayo sa Dios. Kaya kalimutan natin ang takot na mamatay. Script lang yan sa walang Tagapagligtas, o walang Dios because the Lord says, “You need not fear death.”

Nung pinagsabihan ng Panginoon sina Adan at Eva na huwag kainin ang bawal na bunga at mamamatay sila, namatay ba sila nung kinain nila? Di ba’t humaba pa nga ang buhay? Nanganak pa si Eva at eto pa nga tayo. Pero may namatay—ang espiritu! Katawan lang nila ang buhay. Kaya ang mga taong nasa kasalanan at wala sa Panginoon, buhay lang ang katawan subalit patay ang espiritu.

Kaya noong hindi pa natin tinatanggap si Kristo, patay tayo. Pero nung tinanggap na natin, nabuhay ang ating espiritu. Ngayon pa tayo matatakot sa kamatayan na ang puede na lang mamatay ay ang katawan?

James 2:2-4

Suppose a man comes into your meeting wearing a gold ring and fine clothes, and a poor man in shabby clothes also comes in. If you show special attention to the man wearing fine clothes and say, “Here’s a good seat for you,” but say to the poor man, “You stand there” or “Sit on the floor by my feet,” have you not discriminated among yourselves and become judges with evil thoughts?                                                      

Pagka sobra mong iniistima yung mayamang mabango at maganda ang baro at hindi mo iniistima ang mukhang mahirap, hindi ba kasamaan yan? Yun ang human tendency. Pag mas maganda ang baro, pag mas mataas ang ilong at saka mas arogante, they get the service.

Subukan mong maging polite sa mga dispatsadora. “Ma’am, magkano po ito?” “Hindi mo kaya yan. Mahal yan.” Pero pagka bihis na bihis ka, talagang nagkakandarapa sa paglilingkod sayo. At the end of the day, neither the poor nor the rich client gave them a tip. Wala rin namang napala, nagpakaalipin pa sa mga mayayaman.

Pero alam nyo kung bakit ganun ang tendency ng tao? Umaasa, baka mabigyan. In other words, selfish ang motives. You serve the one who you think can give you better things in return. But what is real kindness? It is what you do to the person who cannot return your kindness. Yung ginagawa sa taong hindi nakapagsusukli sa ginawa mo sa kanya. Pero yung ginagawa mong pagsisilbi sa mayayaman, investment ang tawag dun, hindi yun kabutihan.

Isaiah 53:5

But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was upon him, and by his wounds we are healed.

Alam nyo yung game na nagpapasa-pasa ng kung anong object at pag tumigil ang tugtog at na sayo yung object, ikaw ang may parusa? Ganun din yung kasalanan natin. Pag hawak mo at tumigil ang tugtog at namatay ka, ikaw ang may parusa. Kayat habang buhay ka, ipasa mo. At kanino natin ipinapasa? Kay Hesus.

Siya ang namatay sa krus para sa atin. Siya ang nagbayad para sa ating kasalanan—walang iba! Siya lang ang kaisa-isang daan patungo sa Ama, patungo sa kaligtasan. Hindi tayo puedeng tumawag kahit kanino man sapagkat si Hesus lang ang napako para sa ating mga kasalanan.

Siya’y sinugatan, dinurog, tumanggap ng parusa na dapat ay atin. Nawalan tayo ng sugat dahil nalipat sa kanya. Nawalan tayo ng latay dahil inako nya. At ibinunton sa kanya ng Dios ang lahat ng galit nya sa kasalanan. Kaya tayo naman ngayon ay di na tatanggap ng ganung galit sapagkat tinanggap na ni Hesus para sa atin. Subalit ang maganda don, ang kanyang buhay at kabanalan ay higit pa sa lahat ng ating pangangailangan. He rose from the dead, fully satisfying the justice of God and becoming our Savior.

It is important that before you die ipasa nyo na yung kasalanan nyo kay Hesus. At yun ay gusto nyang gawin nyo. Gusto nyang tanggapin ang ating mga kasalanan because he himself bore our sins on his body on the cross so that we can have righteousness and be at peace with God.
